The new technology isn't perfect yet, but it sure is interesting how they can separate elements of mono recordings and create true stereo with them. Here are tracks from a new CD set that also includes the JUDY album in stereo. These highlights are examples of what Judy's Miss Show Business album may have sounded like if it had been recorded in stereo. Songs: Judy's Olio (You Made Me Love You, ...

Judy Garland recorded by a fan in the audience on August 26, 1967 during her last ever performance at New York's famed Palace Theater. Didn't plan to post this here, made it for, and posted it to, the FB page. But I played around with the sound a bit and kind of liked the way it came out, so here :)

Brilliant!
And in 14 months, she’d be dead. She was only 46 years old in this recording.
It's incredible how many artists have been drawn to this song. 15 years ago I saw Tori Amos do it and it was awesome.
Judy was the biggest star but she was vulnerable and wanted to be loved so much. She fell in love easily. In my opinion I think that Sid saw a vulnerable woman who was a big star and was let go from mgm and very needy. He arranged for judy to give concerts at the palace and fixed it up for her. He arranged all her performances in those years and spent all the money she made gambling It away. When Judy’s addictions became so bad he divorced her and left Judy with nothing. She was broke. She married her next two husbands who were losers and used her and didn’t love her. All this is mentioned in all the books and the interviews about her. Very sad
Class !
I was blessed to be at blues alley to experience this phenomenal performance of Nancy Wilson!
Beautiful voice 😍 so magical!!!
There's No Judy like Our Judy! Kudos, Buzz.
She's just too much and knows her groove!
She sounds better than lucille ball by far.
Genial❤
I don't know why they didn't just record the stereo orchestrations, later that night, without Judy, and without the audience. I know it would end up being a "studio" album. And I've heard about the aborted later recording sessions, one around the time of JFK's death. But she could have recorded the vocals while doing the television show, mixing the previous orchestra, with her voice. Easy. And still in stereo. Judy ended up singing most of the songs from this "album" on the CBS show, albeit in mono. And Mort Lindsey's orchestrations through several keys - BRILLIANT ! What does everyone think? bob in toronto
They had done that a few days earlier when they held a rehearsal in a recording studio, along with Judy singing some of the songs, the orchestra also recorded several of the songs sans vocal. ruclips.net/video/S0Kz2wul7p8/видео.htmlsi=ueaOUQbFle76kLQg

I had a CD with Ms. Garland missing the intro, but it did not have the "plate/cup" error. My God, even when she goofs she is a treasure. Thanks for this.
A treasure! Thanks, Buzz.
Thank you Buzz! As always, the fan community is in your debt.
Thank you! I still wish they would release this whole concert from the vaults, false starts and all. She’s so great in this!
I agree.
Who's clapping? Sounds bigger than just a recording crew.
It was a "live" recording session - in front of an invited theatre audience. The album was intended to follow Judy at Carnegie Hall and to be titled Judy Takes Broadway.
Many of us were there. Judy had invited us.
@@allancuseo7431 Please tell us more Allan, as people grow older and a generation dies off, these stories are lost. Please share your experience of the event, anything you can remember - keep the legacy alive.
@@ah7910 Judy often would invite the members of the fan club to the concerts. She adored her fans and often went out for coffee with us after a show. This night was electric but then they all were. It was always a party. So many memories and so few of us left. Lots of laughter that night. Judy was in great spirits. Her humor kept us going for hours.
It was live in New York...an "outtake" does not mean it was done in a studio.
Thank you for everything (and anything!) that you continuously keep giving your gifts of love for the whole world to enjoy! Everything is absolutely and totally priceless!🤗💌May God bless you for this!😇🥰
Absolutely!
Thank you, Buzz! She was a gem, as are you.
She is so real and charming. It's so crazy to think that such a crazy powerful voice comes out from such a tiny, petite woman. Thanks for posting this gem.🤍
Love, Love, Love this Song!!!! And I just Love Judy to pieces!!

Claudette colbert , gone but never forgotten R I P beautiful soul.
I believe we killed her We cling to thosevwho are just greater than we are. That's too much of a burden for anyone to bare. We have to let our stars be free to be who and what they are and just be grateful for whst they give. There are others we love. Let them be free. Worship from afar. I'm sorry Judy if I took too much.

You are wonderful, Buzz. We'll build that statue to you yet. This is one of my favorite albums. I particularly enjoy her studio recordings. My absolute favorite is "Mean to Me". She becomes the music in that one. I play it over and over.
Bless her heart! I am so very glad to find out that she received this award in 1962! This must have been her award by them for her 1961 Oscar nominated performance for best supporting actress in Judgement at Nuremberg which she sadly lost to Rita Moreno.

Gracias!!! Hoy 22 de Junio de 2024, pero en 1969, Judy fue habitar para siempre detras del arcoiris, y descansa en Paz en la palma de la mano del Buen Padre Dios. Gracias por todo, Judy.-
They were terrific. 😃
Only Mort Lindsey could bring those songs to life again.
I wish she sang 'My Boy Lollypop'

she didn't wait for the standing ovation. She knew how good this was.

She did re-recorded this song in 1960 at the London England Abbey road facility. It is included on the CD "THE LONDON SESSIONS".
